Baldur’s Gate 3 confirmed by Larian Studios for PC and Google Stadia

Last week Larian Studios put up and teaser site and we asked whether it was for Baldur’s Gate 3 or Divinity Original Sin 3? Well today Larian Studios has confirmed which title it is and fans of the long dormant Baldur’s Gate series can rejoice as Baldur’s Gate 3 is what the studio is working on. The studio confirmed that Baldur’s Gate 3 will be releasing on PC and Google’s Stadia platform. The news was also confirmed during the Stadia event that has happened today.

Baldur’s Gate 3 will be using current Dungeons & Dragons mechanics and spells. Larian has stated this will be the biggest game the studio has made so far and that the game will be playable solo or co-operative. The teaser trailer itself sets up the story where an evil malevolent presence has made a return to Baldur’s Gate which is aiming to destroy the land and plunge the Forgotten Realms into darkness.

If you’ve never played the Baldur’s Gate games before and prefer playing games on consoles then you’re in luck. A few days back Skybound confirmed that  Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate 2 enhanced editions would be available on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch from September 24th in North America and September 27th in Europe. These editions will include all the expansion content that has been released for the games.
