The Sega Mega Drive Mini release has been delayed in Europe and the Middle East

Back in March SEGA confirmed that it would be releasing the SEGA Mega Drive Mini, or Genesis Mini if you’re in North America, with an initial release date of September 19th. If you’re outside of Europe and the Middle East then good news, that date is still the case. However, customers in the mentioned regions will have to wait a few extra weeks as SEGA confirmed that the console will now be released on October 4th due to logistical issues.

There’s no other information regarding what has caused the delay bar logistical issues but it could be anything from supply-side issues to distribution hiccups. Operations management can be a pain like that. This console will feature 40 games and is priced at £69.99/€79.99 in the UK and Europe. From the heady days of the Mega Drive up until the modern day gaming has been my main hobby. I'll give almost any game a go.

  1. If it’s easily hackable, I’ll get one to go with my PS mini and SNES mini.
