eFootball PES 2020 will have the Euro 2020 tournament added in update

Konami has confirmed that the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament will be added to eFootball PES 2020, with all the licenses of the tournament giving Konami to give the proper video game experience of the game. The thing with these licenses is that while Konami will have the opportunity to use all of the Euro 2020 branding it may not necessarily have the licenses from various FAs to use official kits or player likenesses. The tournament update will go out as an update pack in 2020, likely just before Euro 2020 kicks off in the summer.

That is the case with Serie A which Konami confirmed it had the license for yesterday In that instance the company can use all of the Serie A branding and the official likeness of the trophy, but that does not extend to using club assets like names, badges, and players. Instead, those licenses have to be negotiated on a case by case basis, which is why eFootball PES 2020 will have exclusive use of Juventus but not a team like Inter Milan. If the license was that powerful then EA would have had to rename the entire team roster of Serie A and not just Juventus.

The  eFootball PES 2020 demo is available to try out now so you can have a go at seeing how the game plays, and how it can compare to FIFA. In my opinion, this does some things better than others. eFootball PES 2020 will be released on September 10th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

  1. However, they always have the right team names and player names when they acquire those rights. Also, there are no to few teams that will not have the right player names when it comes to the national teams.
