Here’s a teaser for The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope

The first game from The Dark Pictures Anthology, Man of Medan, is out this Friday but Supermassive Games are not resting on their laurels as the second title in the series has been given a teaser. The videocan be found as an unlockable extra if you manage to get a certain ending in Man of Medan but it’s also shown up on YouTube.

We’re getting Blair Witch vibes from this one, the stick figure graphic keeps on popping up across the trailer and it seems to be set in the woods around the town of Little Hope. We’re not completely sure but that looks and sounds an awful lot like Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and Maze Runner star Will Poulter right at the beginning.

The game will be coming to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 next year. It will have no links to Man of Medan, or indeed Until Dawn. When asked about the possibility of a crossover Pete Samuels, series director and executive producer told us, “The Dark Pictures Anthology is standalone, with every game in the series a new experience.”

“We currently have the first 5 games in various stages of production and are looking to release two titles a year,” he added. “We’re pretty much set on the themes and stories for the first eight games. The most important thing for us is that enough people enjoy the series to the extent that we can just keep on going, telling more and more stories, and occasionally freshening the anthology with some additional innovation.”

As for the first game in series, well that has turned out to be good but flawed. “Mad of Medan looks and sounds gorgeous, but it’s spoiled by some technical issues and, depending on your choices, characters doing stupid things just so the plot can continue, both of which break the flow of what could have been a decent horror story,” we said in our review of Man of Medan. “It’s an excellent night or two’s entertainment with a bunch of mates in a dark room and plenty of beer, though playing by yourself or online with a chum is an altogether more muted experience. This is a fair start to The Dark Pictures Anthology.”
