Here’s a surprise from Sony’s State of Play and that is the announcement of Sid Meier’s Civilization VI making its way to PS4 and Xbox One, with a release date of November 22nd. It’s the first time the Civilization series has appeared on a Sony console since Civilization Revolution 2 on the Vita, and it’s been a long wait for strategy fans. Of course, the PS4 isn’t the first console Civilization VI is available on as Switch owners have been able to get the game for a while.
What extra content will these console players be getting? Well, here’s a handy list.
- Vikings Scenario Pack
- Poland Civilization & Scenario Pack
- Australia Civilization & Scenario Pack
- Persia and Macedon Civilization & Scenario Pack
In addition PS4 players will also get Nubia Civilization & Scenario Pack and Khmer and Indonesia Civilization & Scenario Pack.
When Civilization VI originally released Dave wrote in the review:
Civilization VI is my new favourite addiction that I honestly can’t really fault. Each of the gameplay changes provides a fresh challenge, but they were well worth undertaking once they clicked. It’s packed full of the stuff that made the previous games great, but also has a crisp style that makes things clear enough when the game gets extremely busy. As such, the vanilla version of Civilization VI is so good, expansions aren’t really necessary to improve upon it. Having said that, I’m excited for what’s next.

Yes! I’ve been wanting to play this for ages, but would have required buying a new laptop – that’s much less likely now.
