Rainbow Six Siege operators are being given away for free

Dive into your favourite multiplayer game over the next few days and, chances are, you’ll find some festive loot tucked under your virtual Christmas tree. Rainbow Six Siege is among them, gifting the community with content they’d usually have to buy one of the game’s yearly passes to unlock or spend hours grinding for credits.

The team over at Ubisoft Montreal left the following message for the Siege community without going into specifics:

That gingerbread-looking Alpha Pack (Siege’s loot box equivalent) can be torn open to unlock a random playable operator. As mentioned before, you’d usually need to spend real money on these characters or use in-game currency with newer operators being more expensive than those from previous years.

Having recently celebrated its fourth anniversary, Rainbow Six Siege is gearing up for Year 5 with even more content and updates in the pipeline. According the team at Ubisoft Montreal, story will be a “huge” focus in 2020 – several voice actors have recently been changed and last week we saw a new animated cinematic focusing on Kali, Wamai, and the Nighthaven faction.
