Last week a database listing seemingly revealed that a Final Fantasy VII Remake demo will be making its way to PS4 at some point in the near future, though there is yet to be any confirmation. Today, another leak has apparently brought us the opening video for the Final Fantasy VII Remake, and you can watch all 3 and a half minutes of it below.
The evidence may be getting stronger for the PS4 demo or this is a capture from a preview that wasn’t meant to be shown publicly. If the demo is real then it will come to PS4 but as the game has been confirmed to be multiplatform that demo is likely to hit other consoles once the exclusivity period has expired, and that expires in March 2021.
Here’s what Miguel said about the demo when he played it at E3.
It’s still hard to believe, but this game really is coming. Whether we get one disc or three, the content is bound to be worthwhile if this brief demo was any indication. The decision to shift form turn-based action to something more real time will remain contentious for devout fans, but it’s inventive and rewarding. Square observed the flaws of their action combat from Final Fantasy XV, and improved on every part of it. Having gone hands on, I now can’t wait for even more when the game launches in March 2020.
