Godfall gameplay footage allegedly has been leaked

Late last year the first PS5 console exclusive Godfall was revealed by Epic Games. Described as a looter slasher it looks like a game that has players team up in groups of three against enemies in the world, with players getting better loot as they progress. At The Game Awards, a cinematic trailer was shown which did not include gameplay.

Today, a Reddit user called YeaQuarterDongIng, who only registered on the website yesterday, has uploaded seven seconds of what is claimed to be Godfall gameplay. According to this individual, this footage is from an internal trailer that was worked on in early 2019. Of course, despite the footage showing a lot of similarities, at least in style, to the cinematic trailer shown at The Game Awards it has to be stressed this is all unverified. We don’t know who is using the moniker YeaQuarterDongIng on Reddit, how they have gained access to this footage, or if this footage is even legitimate.

Counterplay Games is the development studio behind Godfall and when it was revealed Creative Director Keith Lee said:

“We’re innovating with Godfall to provide a fresh take on action RPGs by rewarding skill-based
offensive gameplay and making every hit matter. Namely, we want to feed into that yearning for the
next best piece in your character build, so we plan to provide plenty of loot to players to ensure
there’s a meaningful impact to gameplay and playstyles.”

Godfall is expected to launch in Holiday 2020 for both PS5 and PC, though an exact date is yet to be confirmed. With the PS5 slated to be released in the same period, it is not too much of a leap of faith to make an assumption that Godfall could be a launch title.
