Developer Saber Interactive have shed a spotlight on SnowRunner‘s growing mod scene, releasing an introduction video for those wanting to explore this side of the game. The studio also confirmed that mods will be coming console (PS4 and Xbox One) versions of the game in a future update.
The terrain trucking sequel already has a slew of available mods you can access via SnowRunner’s mod.io page – these include an array of cool and bizarre vehicles as well as advanced gameplay features and tweaks allowing you further customise your experience.
SnowRunner guide – 9 beginners tips to get you started
Accessing mods is made simple thanks to mod.io. You’ll need to boot up SnowRunner and click on the mods section of the main menu where you can toggle any of the mods you’ve subscribed to via mod.io. You’ll need an account for the website in order to do so, of course.
Saber Interactive announced that they will be expanding their modding tools, allowing users to create even more content such as maps and interiors. They have yet to explain how modding will work on consoles though hopefully we’ll be hearing more about this feature soon.

In our review, Dom was really quite enamoured by SnowRunner and the methodical yet calm approach it demands from its ice road truckers. He scored the sequel a masterful 9 out of 10, saying:
SnowRunner is a game thoroughly, single-mindedly, in love with the open road. It just happens that it’s the kind of love that’s bred by getting that road so thoroughly under your nails, you occasionally have to wonder whether it’s actually hate. Care, attention and time will show that SnowRunner is a passion project worth putting the extra mile in for.
SnowRunner is out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (exclusively via the Epic Games Store).

I hope it’s not too long until we get the mods on PS4 but what we really need is a fix for the game crashing and there’s too many bugs especially the ones that make it impossible to complete a task/mission.

Apparently, there is a patch coming this week, as well as some additional (free) content.
