Those Mortal Kombat 11 fans who want to unlock the game’s latest trio of characters without paying for the full Aftermath expansion may be in luck.
Last week saw the launch of Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, a meaty chunk of DLC that expands on the fighting game’s cinematic story mode while adding new features and content including three new fighters. These include returning favourite Sheeva as well as Fujin and the series’ latest guest appearance: RoboCop.
According to information retrieved from Steam’s database, it looks as though the three of these bonus kombatants will soon be available to purchase individually without needing MK11’s expansion. On top of that, they’ve been tagged with a release date of June 16th so there’s hopefully not that long to wait. If these listings do appear then we can expect the same to happen on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch too.
While Aftermath has been well received by hardcore fans, many in the Mortal Kombat community have questioned the expansion’s hefty price tag. It’s currently selling for £34.99 with key features like Friendships and new stages having been patched into the base game for free.
If made available individually, it’s likely that Sheeva, Fujin, and RoboCop will be priced similarly to previous DLC fighters so you can expect to pay £4.99 each. If you’re really not fussed about the game’s story mode or other bonus bobbins then you can save yourself a fair bit of money here.

It’s going to be a very hard sell to casual fans of the series. The package which includes the base game definitely feels like the better deal weighing in around £49.99, but those that own it already might feel a little hard done by.
Still, die hard fans of MK should definitely consider picking Aftermath up. The campaign is short but sweet and the new characters are fun to experiment with. It really just depends on your wallet.
