  1. Those VRAM figures are making me question how long a 3070 will last with the next generation? Even if its got the power of a 2080 TI, will it be a limiting factor?

    • Possibly, but they have to be limited by something at the end of the day, you would think the 2080 Ti isn’t currently VRAM-limited if they can drop 3GB VRAM and be as good

There is also DLSS or other ML tech that is, in my opinion, making it look stupid to render natively now it’s hard to argue with the results of (for example) running at 540p DLSS looking as good as (or better) than 1080p native. If you are running at lower res than you normally would then that should reduce VRAM requirements?

    • Yes, good point about DLSS, and Watch Dogs Legion has been confirmed for that.
I guess it’s just natural that I expect VRAM in cards creep up, my current card for example already has 8GB.

      • Whilst that 11Gb of VRAM is a question mark it is listed under 4K. For me my monitor is 3440×1440 so a fair size less in terms of total pixels so 8Gb “should” be fine.

I currently have a GTX 970 as well so I’m not going to go out and get the 2080 Ti based on VRAM, would rather have the shiny new 3070 :)
