Samurai Shodown will launch on Xbox Series X|S in March

SNK Corporation has announced that Samurai Shodown will be officially launching for Xbox Series X|S on March 16th. The game is already available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. The Xbox Series X|S version of Samurai Shodown will be running at 120 fps, and those who had the Xbox One version will get a free upgrade thanks to Smart Delivery. That will also apply to any DLC that has been bought on the Xbox One, so nothing is left behind.

SNK also confirmed that the Xbox Series X|S version of Samurai Shodown will get a physical release across the world. This boxed version will include the first season pass. Both versions will cost $59.99/€54.99/£49.99. Last week, the first details of Samurai Shodown’s third season pass with two characters confirmed. Cham Cham was one of them and the other was Hibiki Takane who crosses over from another of SNK’s titles, with that being the fighting game The Last Blade 2.

We rather enjoyed the game upon its current gen release last year. Nick said in our Samurai Shodown review:

“Samurai Shodown is a strong entry into the sea of fighters, showing a lot of love for the original series, while also being able to appeal to newcomers. A few niggles aside, people are going to be playing Sam Show for a long time. EVO just got more exciting to watch!”
