Danganronpa Decadence brings the main trilogy (and a bonus) to Nintendo Switch

The Danganronpa series is finally coming to Nintendo Switch, as Danganronpa Decadence will unite the three mainline games and the expanded Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp. The game collection will be released later this year.

Danganronpa Decadnece is intended to celebrate the series’ 10th anniversary, the original game having been a cult hit for PlayStation Portable, before it was ported to the PlayStation Vita with its western release. Since then, it and its sequels have been brought to a variety of different consoles and platforms.

The three main titles are all being upgraded to Anniversary Editions.

  • Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition
  • Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition
  • Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony Anniversary Edition

The final extra is Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp, a boardgame-style bonus game that has been expanded to include new scenes and interactions between the various characters.

There will also be a collectors edition release, featuring a 10th anniversary poster, a collector’s edition outer box, a lenticular print set, a remixed OST, and all four games on a single cartridge.

The games are well worth playing for fans of anime visual novels and bizarre murder mysteries. In our Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony review, which brought the series to a narrative conclusion, Miguel wrote:

“I’ve been excited for and anticipating Danganronpa V3 for a long time, and after playing it,  I can say it was absolutely worth it. Danganronpa V3 is an impressive culmination of nearly 8 years of twists, turns, heart-breaks, and murders, and is an amazing entry in a consistently well-written and addictive franchise.”

Will you be picking up the trilogy? And more importantly, will it be your first time exploring this twisted world of deceit and school children murdering each other?
