Capcom has announced that the long-awaited PC version of Monster Hunter Rise will release on 12th January 2022, dramatically enhancing the graphical experience compared to the game on Nintendo Switch with full support for 4K, higher frame rates and more.
A demo for Monster Hunter Rise will be made available for PC via Steam on 13th October, so eager PC gamers can sample what the latest entry in the series offers.
Monster Hunter Rise on PC will be able to push on from the more stylised graphics of the Nintendo Switch version. The game supports 4K resolutions and ultrawide displays, and powerful gaming PCs will probably take playing at 60fps and higher in their stride. Capcom has also enhanced the visuals with high-resolution texture, optimised the game for keyboard & mouse controls, and added in voice chat support.

Monster Hunter Rise will have improved graphics on PC.
Capcom recently revealed the upcoming Sunbreak expansion, which will take players to a whole new region, tell a new story, and bring a big batch of new monsters to the game for you to hunt. That expansion will release simultaneously for Switch and PC in Summer 2022.
The PC release will mark an end to the platform exclusivity for Monster Hunter Rise, which debuted on Nintendo Switch. The exclusivity was a little bit surprising, considering just how well Monster Hunter World had sold by targeting PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but it was still a huge success for Capcom. The publisher reported that the latest Monster Hunter game has already sold more than 5 million copies – no surprise considering the game’s physical stock sold out in some regions at launch.

Monster Hunter Rise continues to iterate and grow the Monster Hunter formula, making it that bit more accessible once again and enhancing player movement with the new Wirebug and rideable Palamute, not to mention Wyvern Riding.
Monster Hunter Rise is currently sitting on an OpenCritic average of 88, making it one of the best rated games of 2021 so far. In our Monster Hunter Rise review, we scored this latest entry in the series a whopping 9/10:
“Monster Hunter Rise is an incredible game. While it may not feel quite as ground-breaking for the series as World did, it boasts a stronger and distinctly Japanese identity, and the changes and streamlined gameplay simply focus on the franchise’s true stars – the monsters. Rise is easily one of the best games for the Nintendo Switch, and one of the finest Monster Hunters ever.”
