PlayStation State of Play will return once again, Sony has announced. The date is Wednesday October 27th with the times being 2:00pm PT / 10:00pm BST/ 11:00pm CEST. This State of Play will be focusing on third party releases for both PS5 and PS4, with updates from already announced titles as well as some new announcements. The show will be running for approximately 20 minutes. It will be available to stream on both YouTube and Twitch.
The last State of Play focused on Deathloop. With this State of Play we could see a bit more of Elden Ring, the PS5 exclusive Forspoken, and maybe a glimpse of Pragmata though that has been delayed to 2023. If we are looking for some surprise announcements there are rumours of a Silent Hill game coming from Konami and Bloober Team, as well as another Silent Hill rumour but with Kojima Productions at the helm. Maybe one of those projects will make their debuts. There are also additional Konami rumours for both the Metal Gear and Castlevania franchises, so maybe one of those will appear instead. Moving away from Konami, Bandai Namco sparked some rumours for Klonoa 1 &2 remasters following a trademark listing appearing in Japan. Then there is the other rumour that Lucid Games has been tasked with a new game in the Twisted Metal franchise.
Sony may also showcase some games that are set to release in the next couple of months, such as the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy, which has been confirmed to release on November 11th digitally. The other big one could be Battlefield 2042. Of course, not everything listed and rumoured is likely to show up. It would be surprising if even one of those rumoured titles appeared, but it will be a big statement of intent heading as we head into the PS5’s second year.
