It’s coming toward the end of the month, and I’m sure many of you are eagerly looking forward to the PS Plus Free Games for November 2021. What are the latest rumours? When will the announcement come? Let’s break it down.

Update: A fresh leak claims to have revealed four of six games in a bumper crop of PS Plus freebies. Read on to find out what they are!

When will PS Plus November 2021 games be announced and released?

Traditionally PlayStation Plus games have always been announced on the last Wednesday of ever month at 4.30 PM UK time with the games going live the following Tuesday morning, so for this batch of games we are looking at Wednesday 27th of October. That said, Sony occasionally decide to change things up and announce them earlier or later, depending on what mood they are / what underpants they are wearing / the availability of their favourite coffee / some other reason they never reveal.

This month there’s a twist as Wednesday 27th of October is also the date of a State of Play broadcast. Sony may take the opportunity to announce the games on the broadcast rather than via social media, especially since they will be announcing details of the free PlayStation VR games that are celebrating the VR headset’s fifth anniversary.

Update: Nope, the didn’t get announced in State of Play or at the normal time of 4.30 on Wednesday. Sony have gone rogue, the games could be announced at any time now.

What will the PS Plus November 2021 games be?

Update: The generally quite reliable DealsLab has revealed four games for November’s PS Plus update, stating that they’re holding back on two so they can be revealed for all during today’s State of Play broadcast. These four games are:

  • The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners (PSVR)
  • Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning (PS4)
  • First Class Trouble (PS5, PS4)
  • Knockout City (PS5, PS4)

The Walking Dead Saints & Sinners PS VR

Typically there’s one PS5-exclusive game, so either First Class Trouble or Knockout City could be restricted to just the new generation console. The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners could be one of three PSVR games given away this month, though Sony’s wording was ambiguous enough that it could be one extra PSVR game per month starting in November. Expect that to be cleared up in the State of Play and a PS Blog post.

You are getting some extra freebies this month, specifically if you downloaded Oddworld: Soulstorm which was on PlayStation Plus a few months back. A new version of the game, Oddworld: Soulstorm Enhanced Edition, will launch sometime before the end of November and all players including those who got the game on PS Plus will get the new version for free. The new version includes all the updates so far, new motion controls and improved gameplay/

We also know that Sony will be giving away three free PlayStation VR games over the next few months so we can expect a PSVR game of some sort.

There are no PS5 games scheduled for release on November 2nd, the closest being a port of PC title The Solitaire Conspiracy on November 3rd. That could indicate we are getting a slightly older PS5 title rather than something new. I think we can safely predict that whatever the game is it will not be a FPS. Hell Let Loose was last month’s game and November sees the launch of the next Call of Duty and Battlefield so FPS fans will be playing those games.

The past few months the French website DealLabs has leaked the games early but so far they have not posted anything. Keep an eye on this page though, if anything leaks out we will post it here!

Can I still download the October 2021 PlayStation Plus Games?

Yes you can. The PlayStation Plus games for September are PGA Tour 2K21 and Mortal Kombat X for PlayStation 4, and Hell Let Loose as the PS5 bonus game.

  1. A huge improvement on recent months, if it’s true. Somehow haven’t got around to Walking Dead yet, so that’s good for me. And Kingdoms of Amalur was fun back on the PS3, so I’ll give that another go.

Knockout City is fun, and allegedly has trophies for the PS5 version on the servers, so a PS5 coming soon and straight onto PS+ (as well as EA Play) is plausible.

The other game looks shit though.

Only thing that makes me doubt the leak is that it says the 2 remaining games are VR games. So why did Sony say we get 3 VR games starting in November? Unless it’s 3 VR games every month (doubtful – they’d have made a point of that), or it’s 3 VR games available for more than the usual month?

The author of that leak also mentions Mafia and Celeste for PS Now. And points out that there’s a deal for PS Now for the rest of October. £25 for a year (for new and returning subscribers).

    • Yeah, I read it as 3 VR games one a month starting from November, but it could also be a fixed set of 3 VR games that are available for a couple months or something, similar to bonuses that we’ve seen in the past.
