Bungie are set to hold a Destiny 2 showcase on August 23rd, the day the next season of the game will begin, but it appears some details of the new season have leaked. Spoilers ahead, so if you don’t want to know anymore then don’t scroll past this amusing but totally incorrect picture.
So then, the next season is said to be “Pirate themed” and is titled “Season of the Plunder”. The story includes “Ketchcrash” and “No Quarter”, and the activities are titled “Expedition” and “Hideout”. It seems the Fallen will be the enemies on the attack, presumably a different faction to those the Guardians currently have hanging around the Tower.
The Raid is a reprise of King’s Fall, the raid of The Taken King expansion, and it will take players back to the Dreadnaught so it appears that vessel will still be hanging around the Moon for a while. The Raid launch is set for August 26th.
There will also be a crossover promotion with Fortnite, with Fortnite armour skins available in Destiny 2 and Destiny 2 skins in Fortnite, you can see the Fortnite skins for Guardians below.
Bungie themselves have revealed the mods that will launch with the new season and all the artefact mods which you can see below, and Arc 3.0 will also launch with the new season, you can read all about that here.Â
