Sony announced the March games for PS Plus during the State of Play stream, meaning that they actually managed to get them out the door before the reveal was leaked, for once!

So, what are we getting next month? Let’s check them out!

What will the PS Plus March 2023 games be?

Going live on 7th March – the first Tuesday of the month – the three games included with every PS Plus subscription are:

  • Battlefield 2042
  • Minecraft Dungeons
  • Code Vein

Battlefield 2042 was another game in the series to suffer from a rocky launch, but DICE and EA have stuck with their latest large scale multiplayer FPS, making fan-requested changes like bringing back classes and are on the cusp of launching Season 4: Eleventh Hour on 28th February. This will add another new batch of content, map reworks and further refinement. It’s come a long way since release, and getting more people into the game will do it a world of good.

If dungeon crawling is more your scene, then Minecraft Dungeons has a lovely blocky aesthetic to its solid take on the loot-filled action RPG. In our Minecraft Dungeons review, Dom said, “It does a great job of taking the genre’s hooks – the waves of enemies, the pervasive drive for better loot – and makes them palatable and approachable for a wide-ranging audience. It’s perfect family gaming, but if you crank the difficulty up prepare for an epic beatdown, and the epic rewards to go with them.”

And finally, Code Vein is here for you Soulslike likers, a game that is “addictive, yet frustrating. It’s promising, yet unpolished,” per our original review.

Can I still download the February 2023 PlayStation Plus Games?

Absolutely! The PlayStation Plus games for February are available until March’s games go live, and include Mafia: Definitive Edition, OlliOlli World and Evil Dead: The Game.

PlayStation Plus Collection is going away

Do not forget! The PlayStation Plus Collection of 19 great PS4 games is going away in May. Any PS5 owning PS Plus subscriber can grab the games until 9th May 2023, and if you do so in time, then you’ll continue to have access to them for as long as you’re a PS Plus subscriber. There’s some great games here, including The Last of Us Remastered, God of War, Until Dawn and Uncharted 4, so make sure to redeem them while you can!

What’s the deal with PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium?

The PlayStation Plus relaunch took place back in the middle of 2022, transforming the PS Plus we once knew into a three tiered subscription service that bundles in and expands what was once PlayStation Now. The classic PS Plus is now called PS Plus Essential, giving access to online multiplayer gaming, cloud save backups, exclusive offers and at least 2 free monthly games. PS Plus Extra then adds a catalogue of PS4 and PS5 games into the mix, while PS Plus Deluxe and Premium (depending on your region) adds older PS2, PS1 and PSP game emulation, and game streaming for PS3 and other titles.
