Something for the Weekend – 17/02/24

It’s been a strange week in the games industry’s big three. After far too much speculation and back-and-forth reports, Microsoft had their “business update” podcast that was about as restrained as you should have expected this whole saga to be. Then Sony suggested that the next year could be quite quiet from their first party studios (if you’re a sequel-liker, that is), and now there’s reports that the Switch 2 isn’t coming until 2025.

Is 2024 going to end up as a bit of a down year? Will there be a chance to clear some of your pile of shame? I wouldn’t count on it!

Here’s what you in our community have been up to this week:

  • TSBonyman has fallen in love with Elden Ring all over again – how romantic! – adding to the 140 hours he previously played with another 45 hours, but he’s still only at 33% progression!
  • And Andrewww has been all in on Japanese stuff this week as he continues to enjoy his playthrough of Ghostwire: Tokyo and sat down to watch Bullet Train.

That’s the round up for this week. We’ll be back on Monday for more gaming bits and bobs. See you then!
