A couple of years ago, Neo Berlin 2087 was announced for PC and PS5 showing us a mix of detective thriller and some gunfights. Now, a new trailer has been released and it seems to show how many different games have been used as an influence. There seems to be a mix of Deus Ex, Call of Duty, various zombie games, and maybe a hint of Vanquish due to the character’s armour. Chuck in some other influences, like the Morpheus like character lifted from the Matrix too and you have Neo Berlin 2087.
The description for Neo Berlin 2087 says, “The game is set in Berlin, in the year 2087. Technological advancements and cyberization have divided society into a two class system, where the rich are ruling over the city while the poor are fighting for survival inside the slums and in the deadly wasteland outside the city walls. In a story about justice, friendship, love, guilt and betrayal, we combine the best elements of science fiction in a way that has never been experienced before.”
As you can see from the gameplay, the RPG switches constantly between first person perspective and third person perspective, which suggests players will be able to choose which view to use. There is a copious amount of bullet time gunfights, some sneaking in a dark tunnel, zombie like creatures chasing the main character, a crime scene to investigate, and some uncanny valley style facial animations on the characters. Elysium Studio was originally aiming to release Neo Berlin 2087 in 2024, but there is now currently no release date.
