Advisory: Major Gaming Sites Running Batman Spoilers

Just a warning: several major gaming sites are running huge Batman: Arkham City spoilers this afternoon.

The sites running the spoiler in headline and front page pieces include Kotaku, Destructoid and 1UP.

We don’t know whether what they’re saying is true or not, but if it is (and not a red herring) it’s a ridiculous state of affairs, and – we’d guess – presumably part of some wider ranging stunt.

Regardless, even if it’s just something that happens midway into the game, this kind of thing would ruin the plot for some, we’re sure, and really isn’t terribly sensitive to fans.

Bizarre.

Goes without saying – don’t post the spoiler in the comments.

  1. I heard they revealed Bruce Wayne is Batman.

    BASTARDS!

    • He is Batman!?:O what’s next, Spiderman is actually Peter Parker and the Hulk is Bruce Banner?

    • Dude at least you could have used ****SPOILER**** first. epic fail

  2. cnuts

  3. Oh crumbs. Lucky this is my one-stop shop for news, views and pews.

Actually for the latter I’d probably go here.

  4. Those bastards revealed that Luke Skywalker is the son of Darth Vader!

What kind of site posts that knowing that it will spoil it for everyone when they access it? That is shoddy journalism.

    • WHAT!! There was no need for you to post such a spoiler here either! Simply no point in me watching the movie now!

    • The BASTARDS!

  5. I’m fairly certain it’s true, and I would strongly advise others not to look it up! This was the spoiler that ruined the plot somewhat for me a few months back, when I first heard it. It’s a shame it got out.

  6. Wow.

  7. I couldn’t even find the spoiler on 1up and Destructoid. Big fail on my part.

    • Oops found it. This does seem like fair warning though:

[Spoiler Warning: There are spoilers for Batman: Arkham City in here. Obviously.]

  8. They’ve been ruining it for months now with their countless home-page posts saying whos in the game, not surprised to see them take it a step further. As Spikey put it so perfectly; cnuts!

  9. Just been on GR, and it doesn’t even say there may be spoilers or anything, bam, it’s just in the headline on their front page. WHY?!

    • That’s how I found out about it. Just why would a gaming site do that? Even if it does try to justify it as ‘being in the demo’, a blatant frontpage spoiler is almost unforgivable.

  10. Ok.. erm why? seems a bit silly
