Check it out below.
The Euro 2012 pack will include  50 European National teams and all 8 stadiums that will be used in the tournament jointly hosted by Poland & Ukraine. There’s also a separate Expedition mode and new Challenges will be released based on both the qualifying campaign and the events of the actual tournament.

If it doesnt play differently to FIFA 12 then im not sold. I always like the slight progression in the gameplay these games provided.

Can’t please everyone. A lot of people have been saying for a long time that new versions of Fifa should be downloadable updates, and when they finally do this other people come out an say they wanted a full release. I can see positives and negatives for both cases, but I for one love Fifa and would have been buying Euro 2012 in either situation.

I love FIFA still playing 12 all the time, there are always gameplay flourishes in these special tournament release – like a better passing model or whatever, but this is little more than going into the menu and creating a custom tournament creating a tournament albeit with extra branding.
Definately going to pass
The only people who say that updates should be DLC are people who know nothing about the games and think the only thing that changes is the team line-ups, although for me FIFA12 is the first monster release since FIFA09… 10 & 11 pretty much were roster updates. :/

It is FIFA12… just dlc

Considering the competition only runs for 2 months (or so) I think I’d rather a £15 expansion than a £40 full game, personally.
cc_star
UEFA & WorldCup releases are normally £30, commonly available for less, obviously.
And that’s a whole game with gameplay changes & enhancements
I think £16 for a pre-configured tournament albeit enhanced with branding & stuff is a bit of a cheek in comparison to £20something for a new game.
Youles
Oh really, I’m sure I’ve normally payed £40 for Euro 2008 etc on release day, so for me the price seems fair.
Even if it is just DLC, I would rather pay £15 than £30/£40 for something that I’ll probably only play for 2 months, seems better value to me. Each to their own though.

See here.

I did read that. I totally understand what you’re saying but I always saw these games as something I’d play during the competition, so for me £15 for something I won’t play again is a good compromise. If you want a totally updated game then I can see you’re missing out, but isn’t 1 FIFA enough each year, especially if you see creating your own tournament as a decent equivalent? To be fair we don’t know (do we?) that there won’t be some gaming tweaks, new commentators and other additions that justify the cost for those that aren’t keen.

Cool beans
I appreciated the gameplay enhancements in them, so this model doesn’t work for me personally, especially the pricing for a pre-customised tourney, albeit with branding.
But yeah, would work out better for a month or two’s play during the tourney.

I guess they can’t please everyone. Plus, how can EA improve on perfection anyway ;)
Burgess_101
Really this is more expensive for me. I only really play FIFA with mates and we were all going to chip in and get EURO 2012 so it would have been around £5-£10 each. Now its made the situation a lot more difficult.
Youles
I guess, although if you pay double what you were going to pay (not ideal, I know), you’ll all have the game/DLC instead of a single copy between all of you, so you can play each other online too! :) Every cloud…
Forrest_01
What stops you all chipping in to get this at a lower price too?
KeRaSh
Your friends could still chip in for you to get the DLC for the version you all bought and essentially make it even cheaper for everyone. You can still play the original game on all involved consoles and only play the DLC on yours.
Burgess_101
Well we play at around 4 different houses usually after a long football game. Its not really viable for us to be lugging about consoles and the like. We will make do im sure its just a bit of a pain because we have to decide who gets the DLC and so on.
Youles
Sold. It might not be as good as a standalone Euro 2012 game, but once the Euro’s start I’ll be in the mood and all over this!
tactical20
Could explain why FIFA 12 has recently had a price drop. £25 in Asda now.
tonycawley
Excellent pricing, I’m well happy with this. Expedition mode sounds very interesting. Looking forward to this now though I may wait til the euro’s start to buy it.
BrendanCalls
A nice little price drop just before the start of the Euro’s may encourage me to purchase, but then I only ever really play Head to Head Season mode so there’s little chance of me using it, I can’t even remember the last time I pitted myself against the AI, probably October 2011 ;-)

Fire up FIFA12
– Create tournament
– Select Group & Knockout
– Customise with chosen teams
– Name it UEFA2012
You’ll have to imagine the branding, but you’ve saved yourself £16
Not impressed with this model if there’s no gameplay enhancements these releases normally receive. I’m out.
D-Nichol
I thought this…surely just create the tournament yourself. Most (if not all) the teams are already there so all your getting is intro cutscenes and a few stadiums…£15.99 is a bit steep. Should be around £4
cc_star
Bingo!
Origami Killer
Quite a good idea. But if there isnt a change to gameplay at all its a bit of a rip off. As cc_star says above you could do it yourself.
blackredyellow
If I hear just one Vuvuzeula then I’ll burn my copy of FIFA 12.
Origami Killer
Ill have it ;)
aerobes
Hopefully there’s a demo then I can just play that and pretend it’s the final every time.
BigCheese
Sold just because of kit, boots and squad updates, I’m not worried about gameplay improvements because I’d have to un-learn them after the EUROS and I’m playing normalFIFA again
