Assassin’s Creed III, Now With A Little More P. Diddy

Ubisoft has gone live with a new TV spot for the next instalment in its flagship sandbox series, Assassin’s Creed III. Plastered with accolades from across the industry, the sixty-second ad also features the track “I’m Coming Home” by P. Diddy ft. Skylar Grey. It’s an unusual combination that actually seems to work well considering the subject matter of the game.

It’s not the first time Ubisoft’s marketing team has adopted this unconventional approach. Back in 2010, Tinie Tempah’s “Pass Out” was used to accompany Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood when it launched that November.

  1. Woodkid track for Revelations was the best.

    • I’d go for the Unkle/Richard Ashcroft “Lonely Soul” music on the original AC’s trailer.

      • When I say the best, I mean the best fitting.

      • Or Unkle’s “Burn My Shadow Away”, for AC: Brotherhood

  2. This game is going to be so good.

  3. Well, that damn near put me off the game for good.

  4. Would have been so much better with orcestral music or something similar to the awesome Revelations trailer. This seems aimed too much at kids in their young teens. Still want the game, but slightly less now. I’m actually more excited for “Lady Liberty”.

  5. What has happened to the simple idea of using a song from the soundtrack of the game that you are advertising? As i couldn’t care less about P diddy, hell i don’t even know who he is. But if i hear a song from the soundtrack of the game, it may convince me to buy the game or make the song fit the advert. Okay, in this case. It does work but most of the time it doesn’t. I wish more publishers would use the soundtrack of the game that they are advertising in the advert.

    • Well it seems the marketeers at Ubisoft disagree with you and believe using a pop tune will help shift more units.

  6. Thankfully for me, I just watch the advert and concentrate on what i’m watching and don’t listen to the music :) I still want this game so BADLY!!!!
