The headline act for this week’s PlayStation Store update is already out, with GTA V unlocking for players yesterday. Well, almost. It didn’t go too smoothly in the end, but these should generally be sorted by now. If you’re still suffering from issues, see if this PS Community thread will help. If you really want a digital copy of the biggest game launch this year, then you can digitally plonk down £49.99 for the privilege.
The other major release this week is Pro Evolution Soccer 2014, getting its current-gen only blow in ahead of the inevitable storm of FIFA 14 next week, for the more reasonable price of £39.99. This game will only unlock on Friday, but there’s a demo to try out from last week, to fritter away the hours until then.
If you’re a fan of more egg-shaped ball sports, then Rugby Challenge 2 is hitting the digital shelves, a good few months after the retail release, for £39.99. Though it has been out since June on disc, when the Lions tour tie-in was more relevant, this is actually cheaper than you can buy this niche title from Amazon. That’s supply and demand in action, people.
We also have Hot Wheels: World’s Best Driver in for £29.99, before promptly overlooking the quite attrocious Unearthed Episode 1 Bundle. I’ll just link you to Blair’s review instead.
PS Mobile gets a few new titles, with Doctor Wiggly, Balancegame, Shikkoku and Vacc-Balls-Chin all hitting the store, and there’s a host of new DLC for various games, including The Developer Pack for Metro: Last Light for £3.19 – also part of the season pass.
Rounding things off, there are two new sales, which bring discounts to Guitar Hero and DJ Hero packs, as well as discounting a whole bunch of “Warzone” games, from Tom Clancy titles to Ace Combat and Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Nothing for me this week as I think GTA will keep me busy for a while.

Surely you won’t be done with GTA by the Mr Youles? :) You enjoying it?

Does anyone know when sanctum2 is coming on to the UK store? It’s on the US one but I can’t find any dates yet.

Vac-balls-chin sounds a bit disturbing!. unless you like that sort of thing, in which case it sounds quite appealing

Oh man that really made me lol, but I’ll def have to see what the heck it’s all about.

Nabbed myself the Soul Sacrifice DLC which was a joy to play with a good team online. Impressive for a portable game how they are still releasing DLC 4-6 months later, brilliant stuff.

The digital download of GTAV is a total waste, don’t bother. I downloaded it three times and it still wouldn’t install. It put me over my usage limit from my provider (annoyingly I’m only 3 days from my upgrade to unlimited going through) and in the end I just went to the shop to buy a physical copy. I also hear some rumours that there are popup and lag issues with the download version.
Fortunately Sony have been reasonably good in dealing with my complaint and have agreed (with minimal fuss) to refund me. I’ll withhold my complete judgement until the money actually comes through though.
