I had a thought today and it’s quite a good one if you ask me, but do give me a shout in the comments if you disagree. How about, from now on, I deal with the Wednesday releases on the PS Store first, before changing tack and handling the Friday releases that tie in with the UK’s unique retail release timing?
With that in mind, we’ll pick up with the only PS4 release of the day, the Bomberman inspired Basement Crawl, which will set you back £8.49/€9.99 for a spot of local or online multiplayer shenanigans.
Running with the classic gaming theme, there’s the PS3 release of Pac-Man Museum, coming as a trial & unlock release for £15.99/€19.99.
After a little false start, where I mistakenly presumed its digital release last week, Ys: Memories of Celceta hits the PS store today, bringing yet another RPG title to the PS Vita for £34.99/€39.99. Invizimals: The Alliance should also be making its way to the Vita for £19.99/€24.99, as it spreads digitally to a few new countries alongside the PS3 counterpart Invizimals: The Lost Kindom for £24.99/€34.99.
The major DLC release this week is that of Call of Duty: Ghosts’ Onslaught pack, bringing another four maps to the multiplayer, a new gun and a new Extinction level for £11.59/€14.49 or as part of the season pass. This one’s hitting the store tomorrow, but I’m bundling it in with the Wednesday crowd, though there’s currently only a PS3 page on the store.
If you’re a Battlefield 4 player, don’t forget to grab the BF4 Grenades Shortcut Kit (PS3, PS4), and Shotgun shortcuts for Premium players (PS3, PS4), as an apologetic freebie for the game being so broken at launch.
Speaking of EA, they’re featuring in a bunch of new special offers, which includes everything from Battlefield to Dead Space and all the DLC. Borderlands 2 is also in there.
Turning up on Friday of this week, we have the cross-generational release of Thief for PS4 at an eye-watering £59.99/€69.99, while the PS3 version is already up for pre-order at £39.99/€59.99.
There’s also Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 for PS3 at £39.99/€59.99 and Tales of Symphonia Chronicles, a bundle of the two PS2 classic releasing on PS3 for £24.99/€39.99. Tales of Symphonia and its sequel, Dawn of The New World, will also be available separately for £15.99/€19.99.
The Lego Movie Videogame is also going to become available across much greater parts of Europe, for €59.99 on PS4 and €49.99 on PS3.

It’s a cracking 799mb which is bloody good for a largish RPG. Although the price is a bit high. Most retailers are at least £5 cheaper.

Basement Crawl appears to be a buggy mess right now if reddit is to be believed. Tempted by Thief, though I’d imagine I will wait for a price drop and pick it up on disk before committing to that one.

Nothing for me in this store update. The ‘blockbuster game prices’ sale are mainly just EA games reduced from their extortionate original prices. There’s some good offers there, including another BF4 PS3-PS4 upgrade offer, but nothing for me. Finally decided on what to buy from the February sale: TxK, Tearaway, and Dungeon Hunter Alliance.

I’ll probably post on the forums about these games. Dungeon Hunter looked a bit like Diablo yeah, I’m hoping it will be a nice dungeon crawler that I can jump in to and enjoy myself. TxK (essentially tempest 2014) I’m hoping will be as addictive as it looks. I’m not sure what the price will revert to, but I snagged it for 4.39 on Plus and it’s 107MB.
