UK Charts 24/03/14: InFamous: Second Son Punches Past Metal Gear V And Titanfall

InFamous: Second Son has nabbed the top spot this week beating Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes in to second place, Titanfall in to third and the shiny remasters of Final Fantasy X and X-2 bring up the rear in fourth.

Infamous: Second Son is the second biggest week 1 PS4 new release behind Killzone: Shadow Fall which was boxed with many PlayStation 4 consoles. EA’s Titanfall has had a rather massive sales drop of -73% and a little birdy tells me that Ground Zeroes on PS4 has outsold Titanfall on Xbox One.

Looking at the other next-gen exclusives, Forza 5 is down in 28th while Dead Rising 3 has vanished from the top 40. Killzone Shadow Fall is still clinging on at number 24.

Further down the chart The Last of Us pops up at number 40, the recent movie news may have given that title a small bump, whilst Aliens: Colonial Marines is slowly descending and is now at number 18.

  1. Truly well deserved number one, the game is brilliant!

And what I love about infamous, remote play they used the front screen for L1 & R1 rather than the back of the vita, which is genius & other developers should take note

    • I agree. Second Son got a lot of things right and I’m loving it so far.
I haven’t tried Remote Play, yet but now that you mention the button mapping, I will give it a shot!

      • Yeh they didn’t use the back of the vita at all, so your hands can comfortably hold the vita without worrying which made my remote play experience worth it in bed. I never use remote play due to devs making R2/L2 the back of vita.

  2. Dead Nation 3? PS4 on the brain there.

  3. I can see Second Son shifting a few more units yet – the game looks stunning and i’m constantly stopping to admire some little detail. And as someone who didn’t get on with the previous games i feel that Sucker Punch have really nailed the gameplay this time around too.

    • I’ve heard a few people say this. Personally, I preferred the first two games but I still enjoyed Second Son a lot. They’ve done a great job setting this apart from the others so it’s easy for newcomers to get into. Nice to see it at the top of the charts where it belongs.

  4. Well done Sucker Punch, well deserved.

  5. Bought both SS and MGSV. Haven’t opened MGS yet as SS is so good. I’m the biggest MGS fan but SS has blown me away. I love the original infamous trilogy but this game outshines them. Well played Sucker Punch. You did great :-)

  6. Should be getting Infamous and MGS this weekend, I can’t wait! It will be interesting to see how Titanfall does on the 360 on release, I imagine it will hold the top of the charts for a lot longer.

  7. InFamous Second Son is a brilliant game and deserved to be top! Such a beautiful stunning game.

  8. Very well deserved.

I assume Titanfall will get a big boost when it releases on 360. Quite alot of the COD and core shooter crowd are still solely playing on the previous gen.
