An unusually short WWP this week, for which I must apologise as I was late in trying to catch up with everyone thanks to a crazy week at work. Maybe some of those who I wasn’t able to reach will drop their WWP reports in the comments below.
To satiate my own gaming needs this week I have augmented my late evening sessions of Borderlands 2 and Warframe with a little mobile and tablet play of the just-released-on-Android, impossible Impossible Road.
Like some sort of insane, eternal, stripped down Super Monkey Ball (or Marble Madness for us old folks) you ‘simply’ have to guide a ball down a road turning either left or right. Until realisation struck that the best tactic seemed to be to try and jump between sections of road instead of strictly adhering to it I was doing especially poorly.
With Blair suffering from imminent deadlines his weeks gaming has been restricted to university “work”, which you can see a gameplay video of below:
I’ve played the game I’m developing with my classmate. It’s called Kubik, it’s about being inside a constantly moving room of cubes, and features Peter (yes, colossalblue, Editorial Director Peter!) as a voice actor.
As for Stefan, he played “a fair old spot” of Stealth Inc. by way of preparation for his chat with the fellows from Curve about their forthcoming Stealth Inc. 2. That also gave him the opportunity to have a go at a bunch of their other upcoming releases Titan Attacks!, The Swapper and Mousecraft on various PlayStation consoles.
Dom has being going mental at work. Oh, no, wait, work has been mental this week for him, but he’s still managed to play lots of games. “The Lego Movie, Final Fantasy 14 and Trials Fusion on PS4 and the beginning of Child Of Light via remote play. On Vita I picked up PlayStation All-Stars and it’s a complete no brainer but fun enough for a short burst – it’s no Smash Bros though.”
Dom’s son has been playing a lot of Angry Birds as he’s addicted, and they’ve now got the game on basically every device in the house. “When he’s notplaying it he’s watching the cartoons.  We managed to expand to the movie Rio yesterday so that’s some kind of progress. I’m not allowed to play though unless he’s really stuck!” Kids, eh?
Meanwhile Dan has been meddling with Rayman Legends, which he isn’t enjoying as much as Origins, in part because he’s playing it on PS4 rather than Vita. I guess he’s never heard of remote play. “The level design is utterly bonkers but still challenging. I also like the daily and weekly challenges (which are little mini games), although it shows how bad I am at the game when I check my score on the online leaderboard.
“Thief still gets the odd hour or two. I’m still at a loss as to why it critically performed so badly. Yes the story may be weak but the game plays a treat.”
Meanwhile, on another stealthy adventure, Kris has been playing  episode 1 of iOS title République.
It’s a game set in a dystopian future, with gameplay focusing around hacking cameras and doors from a phone (Hm, seems oddly familiar). You switch between cameras to direct a girl called Hope, helping her stealth past guards.
The graphical presentation is fantastic, as is the story. It’s remarkably well put together, only boosted further by the inclusion of talent like David Hayter.
What have you played this week?

Kubik looks very smart, hope you guys do well with it! I’ve been playing Thomas Was Alone again, along with a bit of MGS2 and Ico mopping up trophies. I’m finding myself putting more and more time into Real Racing 3 on my phone, it seems to work perfectly as a short distraction, the servicing forcing me to do something productive after a couple of races, it’s almost addiction proof.

Kubik looks really good. Obvious Portal vibe but that can only be a good thing. I’ve finally got round to starting Bioshock Infinite which I’m enjoying so far. If nothing else it’s a delight to look at, not necessarily graphically but stylistically for definite.
I’ve also played Monument Valley on the early access Android version. That game is beautiful and a good play too. A little on the short side but I think more levels are incoming.

Breaking out of the level in Blair’s game was possibly the most fun and excitement I’ve had in the last month.

More Trials. Have platinum medals for all beginner, easy and medium levels and mostly gold (with the rest silver) for the hard levels. I’ve also managed to actually finish 2 of the extreme levels (the 1st and 3rd).
More Terraria. Currently working on making a corrupt world, thankfully it’s much faster than pre 1.2 thanks to the Clentaminator gun.
My copy of Mario Golf for 3DS arrived yesterday so I played a few rounds on that.
Forrest_01
Using my supreme psychic powers, I predict that you may have also played a little EDF too. ;)

LOL, yeah that’s true. I’ve also been playing PES2014, but my memory is shit.

Nowt noteworthy this week.
Tried the Soul Caliber FTP game, got as far as loading the first fight and the server connection failed, shunting me back to the main menu. Deleted it.
I’m giving Dead Island another go after picking up the goty edition cheap and it seems less buggy than my first attempt so that’s my main game for the moment.
Also had some clumsy fun with Octodad, went mental with Stick it to the Man and dug a big hole for myself in Minecraft.
Taylor Made
Mainly pro clubs on FIFA quiet obsessed with it.
Platinum sky cooper 1 on vita but for some reason it’s not syncing trophies or moving my trophies level ever since the new update

Completed Bioshock Infinite, turned out to be a little further from the end than I thought but not too much. Tried starting a 1999 mode playthrough but quickly remembered why I hated the early combat so gave up and uninstalled it. The story was great though, and I might go back and do an easy playthrough sometime just to experiment a bit more with the vigors as I was definitely more of a gun combat guy until just before the end!
Then tried playing ghosts on firmware update day but it wasn’t behaving nicely so have been giving Infamous 2 a go instead. Don’t like the change of voice actor for Cole though…

got about 20 hours logged into Lego Marvel, still tons of stuff to unlock.
but still bloody fun, i remember when finding all the minikits, i think they’re called, was easy in freeplay mode, i think i unlocked everything in the first Lego Star Wars pretty easily.
but damn, some of them are tough in this one.
finding them in the first place is tough.
anyway.
i bought Shadowrun Returns this morning on Steam.
forget that shitty FPS on 360 a few years back, this is a real Shadowrun game, a proper turn based RPG.
only played one mission so far, but it was pretty cool.
and looking at the Steam Workshop stuff, there won’t be a shortage of stuff to do in the game for a long while.
there’s no real tutorial, there is a section that tells you how to play, but that’s pretty much pages of text, better to just jump in and figure it out.
graphically it’s not a masterpiece, it’s an isometric viewpoint 2d backgrounds with polygon models of the people.
but they do the job, and you can zoom in pretty close to see your character, though you’ll need to zoom back out to play with enemies spread all over the maps.
and right now it’s 66% off on Steam, £3.73 in the uk.

Nearly all stars achieved on Angry Birds trilogy Vita, seven stars left to collect on the Seasons world. Attended a Moto GP 13 Vita meet which was a rather short lived championship after 2 races when the PSN went norks North.
Just installed E-Golf on Vita and Puppeteer on PS3 courtesy of Plus so they’ll likely be getting a look in soon.

Not forgetting of course the Monday TGMEM6 meet which had quite a successful turnout ;)

Went back to Titanfall for a bit this week – trying my best to get into it but its just not varied enough to hold my interest past an hour or so.
Other than that I started Stick it to the Man (glad I didn’t pay for it but its quite enjoyable).
Hopefully my replacement Vita arrives Tuesday so I can start Guacamelee, Muramasa and Hotline Miami
