Regardless of what the weather does – and it’s been much windier and wetter the last few days – it’s the last few days of summer this weekend for families with children who have needed entertaining for past month and a half. It’s also the tipping point into a September that, as usual, is stuffed with some huge game releases!
In the News This Week
Unsurprisingly, it’s been a bit quieter this week than last, but there’s still been a good few announcements and reveals.

Phew! How did we get all of those out the door? Well, alongside those, I had a bunch of Gamescom previews to deliver, including looks at Kirby Air Riders and Pokémon Legends: Z-A for Nintendo Switch 2.
I then turned my gaze to a pair of Saber Interactive’s upcoming games, with Turok: Origins looking to reviving the dino-blasting legend, and John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando having a grimey 80s zombie flick feel, blended with World War Z and RoadCraft.
I dipped into the arcade kart racing of Sonic Racing: Crossworld, clobbered through the superhero anime battling of My Hero Academia: All’s Justice, pinched and slapped the unique point & click Crushed in Time, and followed in the footsteps of the unique storytelling approach of Tides of Tomorrow.
There’s still tons of Gamescom previews for me to write up, so keep your eyes peeled.
Rounding out the week, What We Played featured Herdling, Shinobi: Art of Vengeance & The Rogue Prince of Persia.
