We all knew that today was going to be something special for fans of Media Molecule’s revolutionary title and we’re certainly not disappointed. The internet has come alive with news of LittleBigPlanet 2, now that the embargo is up.

It’s also been formally confirmed for release this year.
LittleBigPlanet 2 isn’t just giving you another opportunity to create more platforming levels, it’s giving you the opportunity to create your very own games.
Sony must be very pleased with their latest acquisition as Media Molecule are giving you the power to compose your own music, direct “cinematic masterpieces” and build intelligent machines, bosses, puzzles and vehicles.
New features such as circuit boards, SackBots, Direct Control Seats and “grin-inducing power-ups” look set to make LBP2 one of, if not the, most important releases for the PS3 to date.
MM are promising that creating levels and games will be simpler and easier all the while retaining the fun, simply summed up with the very apt tagline:
Last time, you took a disc of over 50 levels and did more than we could possibly imagine. So we can’t wait to see what you do with this!
The 2 million+ levels that have already been created will still be there for your enjoyment and the online universe of LBP looks set to expand by unimaginable proportions.
