Killzone 3 Demo Next Month

A single player demo for Killzone 3 will launch next month. PlayStation+ subscribers will be able to access the download on February 9th, everyone else can get their paws on the demo a week later (February 16th).

The demo will feature Move and 3D support although, if you choose the 3D option the local split-screen will not be available.  The demo will feature the ‘Icy Incursion’ level from mid-way through the game.

Also launching at the start of the month will be the multiplayer open beta – basically the same beta that PlayStation + subscribers have had for a good while.

All very exciting news especially for our beloved Nofi who on the recent TSA Podcast described Killzone 3 as the game he’s most looking forward too. He plays Killzone 2 every day and always joins in the TSA bootcamps, the man is a total animal at Killzone (or not).

  1. Feb 16th? I’ll be in dublin on that day.

    • I’ll call Sony and ask them to move the demo date, when would be best for you?

    • If you have an american PSN account you can download the Killzone 3 open beta today.

      • Ooh, nice tip. I’ll get downloading tonight.

      • getting myself an american account I think. Way too many times do they get stuff earlier.

      • i just checked the american store and it’s not there?

      • My bad people I misread the US PS Blog post. The Killzone 3 Multiplayer Open Beta will be released on the the US PSN Store NEXT Wednesday not this Wednesday. Many apologies

  2. This demo is a must.

  3. I think I’ll give the single player demo a miss, don’t want to know the story or have any spoilers. The multiplayer on the other hand…

  4. Great way to advertise a big release for the year. Roll on Feb 9th.

  5. It will be good to see how well the Move support is implemented.

    • This could be a deal-maker for me. If I hear decent things about it, I’ll buy the inevitable bundle.

  6. Played it with PS+ and its awesome.

KZ is my number one FPS with Resistance clawing at it hells as R3 looks epic too :-)

  7. Nice. I’ve been looking at KZ3, Bulletstorm and Crysis 2 and trying to decide which one(s) to get at launch. So between this and the bullet storm demo on PS3 and the Crysis 2 LIVE exclusive beta I get to try all three.

I really hope that the Move support feels better than MAG. And the Crysis 2 beta also has 3D enabled so i get to compare the 2 fully.

So far Crysis 2 is looking like a day 1 purchase for me. Bulletstorm, not so much. Still waiting to try out the KZ3 open beta to make up my mind on that one. I wasn’t a huge fan of KZ2’s multiplayer, but i’m strangely optimistic about part 3.

  8. 3D and Move… yum yum

  9. When did the online for the KZ3 Plus Beta shut down?

    • I don’t think it has, I was on there on Monday night.

      • Balls, why can’t I ever connect to a game then?

  10. On a related(ish) note, has anyone managed to find a retailer selling the Sharpshooter yet?
