Sony has formed a new part of its business that will concentrate on in-game advertising. Darlene Kinder, a former vice president of publishing, has been given the job of director of network advertising. Kinder’s previous employers include Nintendo and 3dfx Interactive.
The new business unit will focus on advertising within Home, although its remit will cover all PlayStation platforms.
Hopefully, we’ll be able to sell advertising space on our avatars, giving us not only a unique look, but also the funds to purchase that furniture Phil Harrison is always banging on about.
