We all moan about the weekly Store updates, especially us Europeans, but now we’ve got hard evidence that the number of PS3-based games on the Store is actually decreasing, or at least has done for the last 18 months.

According to a report on GamaSutra this afternoon, the number of PS3 specific games (like fl0w, Warhawk etc) has dropped from 14 every 6 months to just 8, with the number of PS1 re-releases also falling from 12 in the first half of 2007 to just 4 in the last six months.

Despite high value, high quality games like Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and the aforementioned Warhawk, this is a worrying trend, with only PSP-specific downloads on the increase.
