We’ve not yet played Mirror’s Edge for ourselves, but some have already finished the game. According to the poster, the game’s 9 levels take about 5 or 6 hours on the first playthrough but are possible to complete in around 75 minutes when going for time trials.
This doesn’t particularly bother us, we’re all for shorter, more intense game experiences now we’re getting old, but it might interest some.

Excellent. Joe Public will be trading it in in their droves once they realise there’s no MP. I’ll pick this up for 20 notes come Jan/Feb.

That is a plus note for such a short game.

From what I can see it will be selling full price (remember Portal was short but it was part of the bargain orange box or cheap on its own).
If its that short it suggests that while the game looks amazing its really a bit shallow so not worth £30-£40.
Putting on my magic prediction hat (don’t look skeptical, it has tin foil) this will either bomb under crushing reviews or will open with ok reviews but suffer a backlash and be one of those games you can’t even get 50p for in the trade in shops (going the way of Assassin’s Creed).
Disclaimer: I have no experience or authority to make this prediction, I’m just a bit bored at work.

Assassins Creed is great, just not as great as the hype

hmmm, this is potentially alarming news. I was quite looking forward to Mirror’s Edge but if it really is that short it would need to be something really special (like Portal) to get me parting with my cash.

Blockbuster rental I’m thinking - £5.95, 7 nights. More than enough time to earn everyt trophy if I whore the game a lil.

If it’s this short I’ll skip picking it up, maybe I’ll rent it or find a used copy in a few months when it’s at a reasonable price. I hate short games, at £40 a pop if they only last 6-7 hours then they’re not worth my money.

5 - 6 hours on a first play through is ridiculously short. I’d expect a bit more than that for a full price game.
Mind you, it does look fairly repetitive so maybe 6 hours is about right.

Nice quick game you can drop in and out of, and you can return to to beat your times… don’t know if it will have a ghost of yourself to race against in time attack mode (similar to Motorstorm, I know what I mean anyway)
Not sure I’ll get it if it’s full RRP
But EA are marketing this exclusively on the PS3

As long as it’s a great game, I don’t really care about it’s length. Anyway, time flies when you’re having fun
And stretching levels with repetitive stuff doesn’t make a game epic, it makes it boring.

Not worth £40 if its that short, thats a bit of a rip off, think i’ll wait for it to get knocked down a bit.
