People will, it seems, buy anything. Even if that anything is a free costume for a virtual avatar, as this eBay sale for a Killzone 2 costume proves. Yes, that’s $66. Other items include this Reaper costume at $29, and it’s not just our friends over the pond, we’ve seen Europeans bidding ridiculous amounts of money for this kind of thing too.
Remember, folks, these are free tokens, and if you run about Home wearing them everyone will just assume you got them for free anyway. But if we catch you bragging about how you traded in a good night out’s worth of beer for that Killzone 2 helmet, well, you’ll be named and shamed. There’s stacks of good PSN games out there far more deserved of your money, for example…

Wow. Makes me wish I hadn’t used my reaper costume code.
Oh well, hardly anybody has one anyways. I enjoy being ‘unique’.

Darwin say something about Natural selection, The fact that there are still stupid people around doing things like this, is starting to poke a big hole in his theory.
Surely by now we would be much smarter than this

If anything this fits right in line with Darwin’s Theory:
How exactly do you intend to attract a mate and procreate without an awesome Helghast or Reaper costume for your Home avatar?

No way! People are paying this amount of money for virtual costumes? Geez. Maybe I should start a HOME costume business!! That is ridiculous.
That money could buy you a couple of full PS3 games (albeit a few months old but hey). Or like you said shit loads of PSN titles or Shit loads of Cider from ASDA.
10 Bottles of Magners for £10. I make that 40-50 bottles (once you take conversion into account) of the finest Cider going.

Cider beats pretty much anything hands down, well apart from illegal drugs, but they’re pricey!

I think paying for any kind of virtual clothing for something is unbelievable.
People need their heads checked.

I’d be reluctant to spend $66 on a real costume never mind one made from pixels , I mean how would you even wash it …… ? Do you get a washing machine in Home ?
