80MB Patch Lands On LittleBigPlanet

Seems like quite a large file for a sticker pack, right?

LittleBigPlanet has received continous patches since its launch, and normally the larger ones have contained some important new stuff like the Metal Gear Solid content, as well as having cute little codenames like Appledore and Ricotta. Not this one – today’s unannounced update, 1.16, weighs in at 80MB and thus almost certainly contains future (and currently secret) DLC. For reference, the MGS content was roughly 65MB.

Naturally, nobody seems to know what’s in the patch, but we eagerly await any information anyone might be able to dig up.

  1. Some new levels packs would be nice!

  2. Ghostbusters, betcha!

    • Wow, we posted at exactly the same time. Spooky :)

    • Oh, that would be amazing. I’m sure a lot of people (including me) haven’t been buying any of the costumes but just waiting for some new levels. And trophies too :D

      • Pleeease be a Ghostbusters level pack!!

  3. Isn’t it the Ghostbusters stuff?

  4. Who the hell is Newsbot?

    • I was going to say the same thing…

      • Me too.

    • Yep, I was gunna ask that too, ha

    • It’s the new guy ;)

  5. Good show, hope it’s proton packed fun levels.

  6. Hmm… guess we’ll just have to wait and see until they say something about it.

  7. Check the trophy list as soon as I’ve downloaded it… maybe gives hints… like the Metal Gear Solid list.

    • No, there’s nothing there – I’ve just checked.

      • Thanks, I was going to ask that. A new level pack would surely come with new trophies, so… it doesn’t look good.

  8. I hate my HK version of this (damn Amazon market place) for stopping me buying the extra packs.

    • It’s pretty easy to set up a HK PSN account, and you should be able to fund it with an Entropay virtual visa card (see entropay.com) or probably get PSN cards from Ebay.

  9. I’ll get this if its a level pack like MGS. Then I’ll actually pick up the MGS pack because i’ve been putting off buying that for ages.

    • You should get the MGS pack, it’s really great! Five ccool new levels (one of which is a great intro and one is mainly the boss fight) and a fun survival challenge. Plus new materials, objects, stickers, decorations, sounds and music. Oh, and the paintinator of course :D

  10. Online co-op create?

    • could be. but it also could be a level pack

    • I’m guess online co-op create aswell. :)

    • Ooh yeah. Could be that. Although isn’t that still in beta? I forgot. Maybe it would be to help the beta testers…
      … Ghostbusters ftw.

  11. damnit i keep thinking ive logged in automatically but i havnt lol

  12. Are we sure it isnt a online bug fixer, there is some serious work needed with the terrible jumpy play when you have more than 2 people on a level.

  13. Whatever it is, I hope it’s good. Here’s looking at level pack. I’ve been desperate for one since the MGS pack. The little levels with the monster’s pack and the free one with the dynamic lighting we’re good and got me wanting some more MM created levels!

  14. Media_MoleculeLBP patch 1.16 “Caboc” which came out today was data only includes upcoming DLC assets for next few months (no features in this one peeps!)7 minutes ago from Twitterrific

  15. pretty sure this patch adds a new function to your PS3. sliced cheese will now come out of the disc slot.

    • you do know that if you put a cheese slice in the bluray drive you can watch a short film about cows.
