Sidhe today announced that its original title, Shatter, will appear on the PSN in two weeks time. The retro-inspired (tee hee) brick-breaking game, merging familiar action with a modern-crafted production approach, has been gaining buzz and support from the gaming media since its debut at E3.  “We’ve had an incredibly warm reception from everyone who has played the game so far, and we’re looking forward to the PlayStation audience getting a chance to play Shatter,” said Mario Wynands, Managing Director of Sidhe.”We think the audience will find Shatter to be a fun title with a deep, inspired soundtrack that makes you want to keep playing long after you should be in bed.”

We’re told that Shatter will remind players of classic brick-breaking games, but with twists that make it modern and unique including innovative controls, physics effects, power-ups, special attacks, and boss battles; Standard, Boss Rush and Bonus game modes enhanced with leaderboards and Trophies; a vibrant 3D style presented across 10 distinct worlds in 4xAA 60fps HD and a fully scored soundtrack featuring more than 90 minutes of rich original music.  Shatter continues Sidhe’s moves to self publish a range of original, high-quality titles for the console download market. Check out Gripshift on the PSN for a taster of what the team can do, and then for more information on Shatter, visit: www.shattergame.com. We’ll have more on Shatter very soon…

  1. I do love brick breaking games! So simple but so addictive!

  2. This looks great. Hopefully it’ll be priced right. £4.99 – £7.99 would be perfect.

    • $7.99, although it’s not clear whether that’s NZ or US dollars. Either way, expect about a fiver.

  3. awesome. like the sound of this so if it is around a fiver will be a purchase for me. if i can tear myself away from bf1943

  4. Looks alright, Magic Ball was great and I am now addicted to peggle on my PC. I hope POPCAP release it for PSN sometime.

  5. I’m going to be buying this. I just hope it’s priced correctly. £7.99 would be a bit much I think, but it wouldn’t put me off getting it.

  6. That looks well good!

  7. Liking the look of this. WIll certainly add this to my collection.

  8. I might be tempted by this, depending on the price. I think £4.99 would be about right! ;)

  9. Is that a confirmed date for Europe too? It’s the smaller publishers that usually struggle with global PSN releases so it would be impressive if it was. I guess we have the benefit of Sidhe being based in an SCEE country though.

  10. Seems nice.

  11. Hopefully its as good as Nervous Brickdown on the DS which is the best breakout style game I’ve played for a while

  12. Looks pretty good. Reminds me of SSHD & Tetris combined =o =S lol

  13. “idhe today announced that its original title, Shatter, will appear on the PSN in two weeks time”. Oh dear. Someone had accidentally given us a release date for a PSN game. If this isn’t met, heads will roll!

  14. Don’t know about this game, I’ve played a few break out clones and without using a PC mouse it’s really hard, but maybe it will be different with a tight analogue control scheme rather than digital.

  15. I have high hopes for this game!
