The wonders of social networking employed as a marketing tool, namely Capcom’s Twitter feed, bring news on the progress they are making towards getting the forthcoming patch to the better selling of the two recent Bionic Commando games released.
BC Rearmed patch update: US PS3 approved, Euro in next few days. 360 resubmits tomorrow. Patch may be live in 7 to 10 days. Trophies soon!
The patch adjusts the ‘Easy’ and ‘Normal’ difficulty levels of the game to make them easier. That has included giving the player unlimited lives, respawning on solid ground and not falling to your death if you swing into a wall. Which all sounds reasonable enough. Affecting all difficulty levels is a fix to one of the games weapons, the Super Joe Machine Gun, giving it a bigger clip and higher damage dealing capability. Obviously only the PS3 version gets the trophies as an added bonus.

“US PS3 approved, Euro in the next few days”… at least it sounds like we don’t have to wait another 6 month extra in Europe (like for several other trophy patches). The gameplay changes sound good too. About the trophies as added bonus for the PS3: Didn’t the XBLA version have achievements from the start (like all XBLA games)?

Yes, but the PS3 patch includes trophies, XBLA patch does not, as they already have their achievements.

That’s right. I simply meant an added bonus in addition to the gameplay changes that both platforms are getting.

Still it is strange they approved it for one region only.. This has nothing to do with language?
p.s. the Japanese version already has the trophies? it is not mentioned in the twit..

I’ve been waiting for a trophy patch for so long i had been starting to doubt it was ever going to happen. It’s a good game, so hopefully this will bag them some more sales as well as getting the people that already have it to play it again. The offline co-op was quite good too.

This is the psn game, right? I bought it when it was reduced on the PSN store but I haven’t played it yet! That seems to be all I do – buy new games and then play something I already had instead.

Yes it is, great game, freaking hard!
Looking forward to the patch, also the trophy support adds some playability to it.

finally light at the end of the tunnel was beginning to think it wasn’t going to be patched. have had this game for ages, love it but never bothered to finish now i’ve got some incentive again.
