Sony’s Michael Denny, Senior VP of Worldwide Studios, has been talking to GamesIndustry.Biz about the PS3 motion controller. Sony has taken the same stance as Microsoft and are treating it as ‘more of a platform’ than a peripheral. As well as a batch of new games it sound like some Playstation classics may be getting an arm waving upgrade.
“We have a two-pronged approach,” he said, “We are looking at original titles that can really showcase the technology, but we also want existing franchises to support motion control where it can really enhance the experience that we’re trying to build.”
Sony’s internal studios including Evolution (Motorstorm), Guerilla (Killzone) and Sony London (Singstar, Eyepet) are all working on the ‘platform’.
