PlayStation Store. PlayStation Network Video Delivery Service. SingStar Viewer. Whoever’s in charge of brand names over at Sony deserves a break, let the poor guy bust out some adjectives at least! Anyway, if you’ve always wanted to see what’s going down in the world of SingStar (like, for example, watching Michael scream at the tele singing Kasabian) you’ll soon be able to do so without even bothering to buy a SingStar game.
According to the EU Blog, anyone with a PSN account will be able to download SingStar Viewer for free from PlayStation Store and see what’s going on in the SingStar community and SingStore. Once downloaded, SingStar Viewer will sit on your XMB under the Games category, so you can instantly jump into the online community whenever you want. You can also purchase from SingStore, and rate and review video clips.

I know people said it’s broken, but I haven’t had any problems at all recently while playing the game? What am I missing?

Oh, and by the way, spelling error is evident on the first line of the second paragraph (under the video), you said ‘for fre’ and I assume you meant ‘for free’.

Good idea. I sometimes fancy just watching some videos but even with the game you can’t get to that bit without plugging in the mics.
This will be a great time killer and good to share videos with non-singstar owners. All we need now is a PC version so we can share with non-PS3 owners too

Nice idea. The only problem I have with this is that it’s another thing that’s cluttering up my XMB. With all the games and folders there already it’s looking a bit messy.

mines getting a bit like that would be cool to have a better file system for the XMb so that we can subfolder things as the Game section in particular is getting a bit busy on mine. Maybe even the ability to hide areas. Do I need to see my game data all the time. perhaps I should be able to make this visable only when I need to see it.

Yeah, a simple option where you could “mark” which items you want to appear on the XMB would most certainly be a welcome feature.

Since rebuiding my database a few times i’m a bit more frugal with my folders, one each for demos and PSP because i only keep a few of each, and i leave all the full games in ‘Unknown’. Photos and videos i just group by date.
The singstar app is a great idea and i’m looking forward to seeing it.

I’d hope that some day they allow us to organize the XMB on our own… I wouldn’t want this under the ‘game’ section.

Now I understand why they were trying to lock down the videos by region in that last patch. More viewers may help the rating of videos but if you have never played SingStar you might not appreciate the videos as much.
Interesting move none the less.

Good idea, not overly keen on non singstar people being able to laugh at us without taking part themselves. I do however like the idea of buying songs without booting up the game first, seems a bit too long winded sometimes if you want to just get on the shop.
