The sneaky Heavy Rain demo, a nicely washed car and now this – ModNation Racers is heading to the PSP. Friday the 5th of February will be forever remembered as Awesome Day, because as utterly fabulous as ModNation Racers is, a portable version is just delightful.
The PSP version will support local and online multiplayer (6 players) and will feature the same Create tools to enable customisation of your kart, your Mod and the same track development. You’ll also be able to upload, download and “remix” tracks from the online community.
Seriously now.

Will this work with the PS3 levels? One would assume modnation levels are a bit easier to make work on both platforms.
Shame they could never get that working on LBP

Yeah thought it might not…shame, would seem easier to make a kart racer to work across it all. Not check out LBP PSP .. but I assume there are a lot less levels than the PS3

Surely it would be doable?
I mean, all you need to do is have the PSP ones be playable on the PS3, and then an option in the PS3 to have item and level limits suitable for the PSP. So the PSP levels are then a subset of the PS3 ones.
Does that make sense?

Can you use the ‘karts’ and ‘racers’ that you create on the PS3one transferable to the PSP, and vise versa?

Btw, Sony has a tendency to reveil PSP games in February… Last year same time they revealed LBP PSP and Assassin’s Creed Bloodlines and Rockband… Wonder what they have in store for us this year!
This is truly an Awesome Day!

Wow! They certainly sneaked that one in, I wasn’t expecting a PSP version as well as the PS3. I just hope in amongst working on the two titles that they’ve had time to iron out the load-times and framerate issues on the PS3.
Looking forward to the end of February as my son was pretty disappointed when the closed Beta ended and he couldn’t play it any more.

sorry for late response..just back from work now…
ok well, i didn’t like what happened with LBP on psp, I found it a very limited experience after the ps3 version so in that sense i have a slight feeling of unease about how it will work out.
At the same time, with the potential to swap content/designs between ps3 and psp version could be an undeniably enriched overall experience. It would be the proper way to go imo but we’ll have to wait til they announce more details.
..and in a small way, announcing the psp version made the current ps3 beta feel a teeny bit less special

Sweet, all I need now is a PSP!
If they cut the price of the Go! I’ll take the plunge and buy it. £200 just can’t be justified though.
