Just thinking about God of War makes me twitch, so I’ll get right to it. Here is the lovely silverware found in God of War III:

Bronze

  • Mr. Hand
Discover the secret ‘Hades Arm’ room
  • Hit Man
    Perform a 1000-hit combo
  • Rip One!
    Rip apart 1 Olympus Sentry
  • Nice Tan
Blind 100 enemies with the Head of Helios
  • Obedience School
    Deliver 50 kicks to Hounds
  • It’s getting hot in here…
Burn 100 enemies with the Bow of Apollo
  • Souled Out
Summon every Soul with the Claws of Hades
  • Bloody Hell
Cover Kratos in 500 buckets of blood by killing the enemies
  • No Guts, No Glory
    Gut 3 Centaur Generals
  • Hitting Your Stride
Upgrade any weapon to the next level

Silver

  • Eye Candy
Collect all of the Gorgon Eyes
  • Feather Plucker
Collect all of the Phoenix Feathers
  • Are You Horny to Win?
Collect all of the Minotaur Horns
  • Maxed Out!
    Completely upgrade all weapons

Gold

  • Vengeance Complete
    Beat the game
  • Up to the Challenge
    Beat the Challenge of Olympus
  • Unhuman
    Beat Titan Mode
  • Priceless
Collect all of the ‘Godly Possessions’

There are also 18 secret trophies, giving a total of 36 trophies. From what I can gather, 16 of these secret trophies are story-related, with one of the remaining two being the platinum, and the other looks like a gold for maybe doing something similar to getting the Muse Keys in God of War I.

That’s an educated guess. Among those 16 secret trophies, 10 are bronze, while 6 are silver. That’s not a guess, I’m just using some simple Maths there.  Anyways, good luck getting that platinum…

  1. Glad i stayed up now :) Whoever plat’s this is a gaming god

  2. “Unhuman
Beat Titan Mode” – This will be extremely hard but I’m sure I will do it!

    “Are You Horny to Win?
Collect all of the Minotaur Horns” – New collectibles? What will this increase? Judging by the name of the trophy…

    “Hit Man
Perform a 1000-hit combo” – Dante gives a gold for getting a 666 combo, Kratos gives you a bronze for 1000. Brutal.

  3. I hate difficulty level based Trophies, they lack imagination

    • Don’t you hate all trophies though?

      • what a good point, but difficulty level based ones particularly

      • Yeah i do too in fact i hate anything that means a second play through, though to be fair i loved Modern Warfare 2 vet mode

      • Atleast difficulty trophies make sense, get a trophy for beating the game on hard/harder/hardest settings. Unlocking very hard only after beating the game on hard is what sucks.
Collectibles are the kings of unimaginative and dull trophies.

    • Agreed. When they’re full of thought, imagination or downright fun, they’re a joy to go for. However, this is usually the case with so few that it makes me resent 90% of trophies in general. Difficulty-based trophies suck, multiplayer trophies should be compartmentalised away from the standard 100% (read: not impact the platinum) for a good couple of reasons.

    • I hate grinders more than anything else. Prevented me from half a dozen plats.
Difficulty ones are ok to me, unless you get games like Killzone which are stupid hard enough for you to need to figure out glitches to beat it.

To me this looks like a fairly straight forward platinum, ive never played a GoW though so dont know how hard they are on the harder difficulties, the rest are just item searching or something of the like.

      • I’d say GoW on the hardest is harder than KZ2 on Elite..

  4. The bloody hell trophy confuses me, what exactly, is a bucket?

    • I think it translates as kill X amount of enemies.

    • From Wikipedia:
“A bucket, also called a pail, is a watertight, vertical cylinder or truncated cone, with an open top and a flat bottom, usually attached to a semicircular carrying handle called the bail. Their main purpose is the carrying of water, but they may also have other purposes.”

      • That’s the funniest thing I’ve read in ages!!!

    • It means “Cover Kratos in 1000 half full buckets of blood by killing the enemies”
      Just a guess, though.

  5. Won’t make me stop playing Monster Hunter, see no need for another action game right now after all of all those I’ve passed have been GoW rip-offs.

  6. nice list roll on release day.

  7. I don’t think this will be too hard to platinum! The trophies don’t look all that different to the GOW collection trophies!

    • You might want to eat your words. The collection doesn’t have a difficulty trophy, and the only game I know that’s harder on the highest difficulty is Ninja Gaiden. It can be quite punishing, I wouldn’t take it lightly!

      • He’s got a point, Ninja Gaiden is a bitch of a game at some points! It can be very punishing, I’m sure that GOW 3 will be no different

      • Granted, but once you have played through you’ll no doubt get the option to play through again with all your previously acquired upgrades… that should make the job easier!!

      • Yeah you will, not on a harder difficulty though, then you have start from scratch. I’ve gone through GoW:CoO on God Mode (the same as Titan mode), and it’s mental!

      • Can’t be any harder than the Batman AA freeflow challenges!!

      • Then you’d be wrong!

      • I’m quietly confident that the platinum will be mine! ;-)

      • No doubt it’s obtainable, I’m not going to give up without having either. It’s just not going to be .. easy .. in any way fathomable! Well thats assuming they don’t make it easier ;)

  8. Nice, there a trophy for beating the game on the hardest difficulty! Yay! Maybe that means if I get that platinum at some point, it’ll actually be worth having.. That is of course assuming they don’t nerf the difficulty too much.

  9. Wow what a list! That one will take some time to platinum. Should still be an awesome game though :)

  10. “A platinum you will never get”…Watch me! ;)

So Health and Magic are covered by Eyes and Feathers…what new skill will Kratos have to find these useful?

    • *find these horns useful?

    • I was thinking no problem as well, this is the one genre I excel at. Collectibles usually involve 2 playthroughs, 3 at the most so given the gaming time maybe a week
