The 2010 Game Developers Conference came to an end on the 13th March and organisers have announced that attendance for this year’s event has set an all-time record; 18,250 industry professionals walked through the doors of the Moscone Center, San Francisco.

As a result, GDC 2011 has been booked, scheduled and detailed. It’s home will once again be the Moscone Center in San Francisco and will take place from February 28th to March 4th, 2011.

Despite the event refocusing on the developers and providing more support for industry professionals, it still provided some rather big news for gamers as a whole - most noticeably from Sony.

The PlayStation Arc/Gem/Wand/Motion Controller was finally revealed and given an official name…which you all know by now is PlayStation Move. The new hardware was demonstrated and PlayStation Move games were discussed.

Other highlights included a talk from Sid Meier, the White House’s involvement  and Uncharted 2′s record breaking success at the Game Developers Choice Awards where it picked up 5 gongs.

Lecture submissions for the 2011 GDC will be completed by summer 2010 so we’ll find out who’ll be talking and about what, soon.
