BBC Preview Move

The BBC’s flagship technology program Click has got its hands on the PlayStation Move controllers and has given the new tech its preview treatment.

The hands-on experience seemed pretty far from stellar as the presenter said the experience was “broadly similar to using Nintendo’s Wii, and on this evidence I didn’t notice any improvements in accuracy or the speed in which my movements were interpreted on the screen”. Obviously all games are still at an early development stage and as such won’t represent the quality of the final product.

As you can see in the vid, SOCOM 4 is still the standout title for core gamers as most of the other games the presenter tried his hand at were little different to what we’ve become accustomed to on the Wii, albeit with higher resolution graphics. We’ll have to wait to see what the future brings as to whether the PS Move can aim higher than its once popular rival, which long ago seemed to lose its novelty factor.

As the program is broadcast online and uses iPlayer infrastructure it maybe UK only, it’s also not possible to embed the vid so you’ll have to catch the relevant section of the program here.
