With the World Cup less than 50 days away, it appears that UK gamers are getting in the mood by buying FIFA’s latest offering in their droves. 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa has taken a shot on target and scored big by taking the number one spot across the board. There’s a pretty even spread of sales with the PS3 version accounting for 48%Â of copies sold and 47% belonging to the Xbox 360.
UK PS3 Chart: Week ending 1st May:
With FIFA taking the top spot, Super Street Fighter IV settles for second place, which shouldn’t be sniffed at considering it’s a slightly beefed up version of a game that’s already been out for well over a year. I’m a little confused as to GFK listing Yakuza 3 as a new entry seeing as it’s been out for a good few weeks already. Is this a typo or is it only just started to sell? The God of War Collection isn’t present as it’s classed as a budget title, but, if you’re interested, you’ll be happy to know that it is sitting at number one in those charts. God of War III is still holding strong at number 4 and Heavy Rain hangs on in there at 10.

UK Xbox 360 Chart: Week ending 1st May:
Sam Fisher makes way for FIFA but doesn’t slip too far – now occupying second place. Super Street Fighter IV debuts at number three and the usual suspects make up the top ten. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 at number four…seriously? I’m not hating the game but surely there can’t be that many more people out there that don’t have it!
