PSN Error 80023102 Still Not Fixed

You have to feel sorry for Sony. They push their Store Updates forward a day, and the wallet system breaks.  The EU Twitter account has been tweeting continuously since last night trying to keep people up to date with what’s going on, but as of this morning the system is still down and chances are you won’t be able to add extra funds to your account.  Not yet, anyway.

“The issue hasn’t been fully resolved yet,” said one tweet overnight, with another this morning confirming the news.  “We haven’t found a permanent fix yet,” it said. “In the meantime the PSN Store can only handle a small number of transactions per second.”

We don’t know what that number is, but we’re assuming it’s all down to the huge amount of European gamers wanting to get in on the (rather expensive) Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus map pack action.  The error code, if you’re wondering, is “80023102” and you can rest assured that Sony are trying to fix it and will hopefully do so today.  After all, they want your money.

Sony are advising that you shouldn’t continuously try to add funds if you get an error message, especially more than five times in one hour because you’ll get locked out of the funding system for 24 hours and you won’t be able to do anything even once it’s fixed until your lock out expires, so chill out.  Patience, then, is required – we’ll update if we get news.
