Despite PS3 stock shortages and fallings out with major retailers, Red Dead Redemption has made over £10 million in just 2 days, according to MCV.
Rockstar’s sandbox title set in the ‘Wild West’ went straight to number one in the All Formats chart, the PS3 Chart and the Xbox 360 chart this week and is now ranked 11th in terms of best ever first week sales.
The estimated figure of £10m in just two days will be more than welcomed by Rockstar and Take 2 as Red Dead Redemption is rumoured to have cost $100m to make, making it the most expensive game in history alongside GTA IV.
If you are still having problems getting hold of a PS3 copy of the game, you should find the situation being resolved shortly. Neil Ashurst – GAME’s head of UK PR – stated:
The game was flying out of the stores. Some branches ran out – particularly of the PS3 version, due to a lower than expected level of stock – but this was apparently felt across all of retail. But we’ve had more arrive and we’re expecting another shipment in the next seven days.
