It emerged yesterday that, over in the States, new PS3s would be bundled with a HDMI cable rather than the dodgy decade old tech that currently graces any new PlayStation 3.

However, it appears that here in the UK, SCEE won’t be following suit.  Sony UK don’t have “any plans” to change the three lead phono cable that barely gives you stereo, let alone HD visuals.

I’ve no idea what the percentage of PS3 users that actually play their games in HD is, but it was only a couple of years back that just 30% of Xbox 360 owners were even aware what HD is.

HDMI cables are available for about £3 from ASDA.

  1. Jesus, people need to get a life if they are still talking about a £3 HDMI cable not being included.

Why not discuss IMPORTANT and INTERESTING topics, like PSN Plus giving you 48 games a year for £40 subscription. (makes Xbox Live fees look rather poor value…)
