When Sony jump on the ‘Announcements of announcements’ bandwagon, well, that’s the last bastion of decent journalism out the window for us because we’re all over it.
“Who said weekends are quiet?” says the Tweet, giving nothing away other than a wee dose of integrity, “two huge announcements on the EU PS Blog on Saturday morning!”
We’re hoping that the announcements are huge indeed, this is breaking my heart.

If it’s as big as the news that MS are broadcasting their conference live in Times Aquare then i’ll be amazed.

E3 will be live in Home this year, not prerecorded?

If this is another E3 surprise destroyed, I will scream.
I don’t care if these leaks are intentional and were meant for pre-E3, I want surprises during E3, they are what make it so special.
Can you imagine if Killzone 3, LBP 2 and Motorstorm Apocalypse were all announced during (but spread throughout) the Sony conference? It would have been killer. But as it is, we aren’t going to get as many surprises as we could have, if there are any left.

They will still have a lot of shockers. They have a reason other than pre-E3 hype to announce all these games before-hand. I guarantee there will be some massive unexpected announcement at the conference.

completely agree. I think the conference is going to feature heavily on Move, PSN+, & possibly the PSP2. Aside the latter, I’d rather see more games!!

Why would Sony announce all their surprises if they didn’t have any to fill up the E3 keynote? I think it’s pretty obvious they’ve got more up their sleeves. This is just to build up hype… and it’s working.

I agree. But imagine if they’d kept everything back for the conference. Although they do get a lot more publicity this way though – everything gets drowned out and diluted at E3 except for one or two huge announcements. Overall, i’m sure the Sony Press Conference will still be jaw dropping and exciting with many exciting announcements.

What Sony are doing is actually very clever. They have announced some huge things in the lul in news during the run up to E3 when the gaming press has little to write about. This means gaming sites are full of PS3 news coverage and announcements that would otherwise be overlooked amongst the many things that will come out of E3. As a result they look like the most exciting coinsole maker at the moment. Plus I’m sure they have one or two big things kept back for E3.

Wonder what this could be, because at this rate, Sony’s E3 conference wil be practically non-existant.

E3 isn’t about surprises, it’s about the content, I don’t watch to say “OMG I DIDN’T SEE THAT COMING!!1″, I watch to see the latest games.
Just because they announce their games Pre-E3 doesn’t mean its going to be “non-existant”.

Exactly – seeing footage and getting more details about these games that they’ve already got us thinking about is almost as good.
