Despite calling XBLA a “slaughterhouse” where only a handful of download games go on to be successful, it looks like Hello Games’ sophomore title after the wonderful Joe Danger could grace more than just the PSN.

Issuing a call to arms for creative people to send in their CVs to the Guilford outfit as their expansionary plans hit full stride, the following snippet of detail can be found:

“If you are an experienced programmer and you need more details (of course you do) then if you know all about Xbox 360 or Network programming you’d find plenty to keep you busy here. We don’t really mind though, as long as you like what you do.”

This is hardly concrete confirmation that their next game will be on the Xbox 360, of course, but it does appear that the fledgling micro-studio are at least looking at broadening their horizons next time out. Can’t wait, guys. Can’t wait.

  1. Amazing what money will do for your views :)

  2. Didn’t know Joe Danger was a timed exclusive., thought it was on 360 already. It will be on XBL at some point as one of the game play videos i seen (posted by TSA actually i belive) had 360 buttons on screen it.

  3. Just so people know im not crazy ;)

    • Yes … and those buttons were explained numerous times before.
      :)

      • please explain once more for those who missed it…me :)

      • See below!

That was an old build before platforms had been locked down. It’s not unusual to use stock buttons during such periods when running on a PC.

      • o right, so Sony bought this one then? must of been lots of money, as i would of thought multiplat would of been the way to go for a small team like that

      • I believe they were happy to go with PSN due to concerns over XBLA.

      • kl. makes sense i guess. cheers

      • You two make such a good couple.

    • Probably a PC build running with an 360 controller. Their job posting is the furthest thing you can get from a solid plan though. It reads like “we want some people who are good and we can get along with, we’ll decide what to do depending on what those people can actually do.”

      • for a PS3 exclusive?? they would start development with the incorrect buttons from the 1st build?? seems a very odd thing to do. I would of said they built it for 360 and PS3, and in typical dev fashion, they use the 360 version to demo everything, like they do with disk based games, then just output the PS3 version last, if those videos were taken from a PC…

      • It wasn’t made as a PS3 exclusive though, Sony just worked out to offer what they thought was the best chance of success. Obviously there’s a build that runs on PC, because that’s how games are made and if you’re showing it at an event like PAX you’ll need that build to work with a controller – at which point it’s far simpler to use the 360 one because of its native Windows support.

  4. i always had the impression that Joe Danger wasn’t a PS3 “exclusive” per se, but they had chosen to bring it to PSN first for their own reasons.

    • That was my understanding as well. I forget where I saw it, but there was an interview made with Hello Games around JDs release where they said they intended to release it on other platforms, but they just had to get one version out now since they didn’t have the money or man-power for a concurrent release on multiple platforms.

  5. good luck to em i say, i hope they can be successful going multiplatform so they can make more great games.
so long as they continue to support the ps3 i wish them every success with their new games.

  6. Saw this on Twitter, was tempted to apply but not finished uni yet!
