In a move which should surprise no one, details have started surfacing at IGN of two special editions for this year’s entry in to the Call Of Duty franchise.
The special editions follow the pattern laid down by Modern Warfare 2 with a Hardened Edition and Prestige Edition, retailing at Buy.com over in the US for $79.99 and $149.99 respectively.
It is not yet known what extras will be included in these editions, but it’s probably OK to assume they’d be of a similar nature to last year’s hardened steel case and download code for Call Of Duty Classic, or the night vision goggles that accompanied the Prestige edition.
In other Black Op’s news analysts are predicting that pre-orders have already surpassed those of Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2, and why not, what we’ve seen so far looks some of the best action the franchise has seen for a few years.
As always, we’ll let you know what the special editions contain the very second we find out.

My bets are on a “make your own napalm” kit.

Sort of gone off shooters now tbh. I’ll probably only take a look at KZ3 and R3. Hmm.

I’m quite excited for this, anyone who knows me, knows I just don’t get on with FPS
I often initially like them, not the campaigns which are boring as fook, but the multiplayer, but after a couple of weeks they either die on the arses or they become a clusterfuck of abusers and campers.
I really like what little bits we’ve seen so far, and Treyarch are pretty damn fine in my book
But am I gonna pre-order it? No, supermarket special all the way

I’ve never seen the appeal of extras like statuettes and trinkets in special editions. If it contains a code for something special in-game, then I sometimes spring, but I own enough crap.

Only reason I got MW2 hardened edition was the COD classic code. The steel case was really nice though and the artbook is interesting but not very long.

Im not bothered about the junk that comes with it. I buy the standard version unless the limited edition doesnt cost any more, (al la heavy rain and red dead for me)
